Do I need prior coaching training to join CLC? +
No formal coaching training is required. The program is designed for experienced leaders who want to build coaching as a structured competency, starting from foundational principles and progressing through applied practice. A minimum of eight to ten years of business or leadership experience is the key prerequisite.
How does coaching differ from mentoring in this program? +
The Certified Leadership Coach program dedicates specific attention to distinguishing coaching from mentoring and training in real workplace contexts. Participants learn when each approach is appropriate and how to shift between them based on what a situation demands, rather than applying a single style by default.
Is CLC aligned with any external coaching body or certification standard? +
CLC is an iLead certification program and does not currently carry accreditation from an external coaching body. Participants receive an iLead certificate of completion upon finishing the program.
How is assessment handled — is there a written exam? +
Assessment in CLC is practice-based rather than exam-based. Participants are evaluated through coaching conversations, exercises, and the Individual Development Plan they build during the program, which serves as a concrete demonstration of applied learning.
What roles or career stages benefit most from CLC? +
The program is well suited to mid-to-senior leaders, newly appointed managers, and high-potential professionals who need to move beyond directive management toward a coaching-led style. Executives looking to strengthen delegation and structured feedback practices also find strong practical value in CLC.

No specific pre-reading is required. Arriving with one or two real team challenges or development scenarios you are currently navigating will allow you to ground the exercises in your own context and get more out of the Individual Development Plan you build during the three days.
